Beyond the Classroom: PTLee CNCET Students Dive into the World of Innovation at Askan Technologies
On 23rd September 2024, 118 vibrant and ambitious students from P.T.Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker College of Engineering and Technology (P T Lee CNCET) embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to explore the rapidly evolving realm of Information Technology. The visit was an immersive experience designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry applications, fostering a deep understanding of IT processes and career opportunities.
A Legacy of Philanthropy and Education

P.T.Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker, a visionary philanthropist who lived from 1829 to 1874, dedicated his life to uplifting the underprivileged in Tamil Nadu. Through his trust, established via a will, he laid the foundation for the P.T.Lee Chengalvaraya Naicker Trust, which continues to empower lives. In 2001, the trust founded P T Lee CNCET, a premier institution approved by AICTE and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. The college is celebrated for its six undergraduate courses leading to B.E. degrees and its state-of-the-art facilities, including well-equipped laboratories, libraries, and computer centers.
P T Lee CNCET: A Journey of Excellence and Achievements

It ranks 113th among Anna University-affiliated colleges, a testament to its academic excellence. The institution also fosters holistic development through active NSS units, co-curricular activities, and various clubs that build leadership and confidence among students.
A Day of Inspiration at Askan Technologies
Guided by their dedicated faculty—S. Menaka, Assistant Professor from ECE, A. Sujitha, Assistant Professor from ECE, S. Mohanraj, Assistant Professor from ECE an Industrial Visit in-charge, and P. Kamalakannan, Assistant Professor from ECE—the students, primarily from the Department of Computer Science pursuing B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), visited Askan Technologies.

The session, titled “A Guided Tour of IT Excellence,” was led by Mrs. G. Meenakshi Devi, Head of Human Resources at Askan Technologies. Her interactive presentation offered students a glimpse into the IT industry’s vast potential, covering practical knowledge, trends, and opportunities.
Despite coming from a Non-IT background, the students exhibited remarkable enthusiasm and curiosity about IT processes. Their engagement during the session reflected their eagerness to explore new domains, setting a benchmark for learning and growth.
Acknowledging the Contributors
This enriching experience wouldn’t have been possible without the contributions of many. Special thanks to appreciation goes to Mr. Narendiran, Industrial Visit Coordinator, whose meticulous planning and dedication ensured the event’s success.
Gratitude and Aspiration at Askan Technologies

As a beacon of excellence, P T Lee CNCET continues its journey to nurture technically superior and ethically sound engineers. The industrial visit to Askan Technologies is a shining example of the college’s commitment to providing students with real-world exposure and opportunities to excel.
