A Memorable Visit by Aadhi College Students to Askan Technologies

On the refreshing morning of April 16th 2025, Askan Technologies was delighted to receive a lively bunch of 50 energetic students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Aadhi College of Engineering and Technology, Kanchipuram. The students were accompanied and escorted through the visit by their dedicated faculty members, Ms. M. Shalini and Mr. R. Manickam, Assistant Professors in the CSE Department.

Aadhi College: Building Bright Futures

Located in the cosmopolitan city of Kanchipuram, Aadhi College of Engineering and Technology (ACET) was established in 2008 at Oragadam, Chennai. The college is a constituent of Anna University, AICTE approved, NAAC accredited, and UGC 12(B) and 2(F) recognized. ACET provides six undergraduate courses with high emphasis on academics, research, and infrastructure. ACET has a well-stocked library, hi-tech hostel facilities, and functional units of NSS, NCC, and YRC. ACET also has MoUs with foreign universities, which makes it one of the top engineering colleges in the Kanchipuram district.

Learning Beyond the Classroom – The Interactive Session

The session started with a warm welcome, there was an interactive session led by Mrs. Meenakshi Devi, the Human Resource Manager of Askan Technologies. Her down-to-earth approach and professional wisdom hit the right note with the students, as they wanted to understand what the IT sector itself expects out of fresh graduates. The session covered a range of topics, from the latest technologies to the most essential qualities IT companies look for in fresh recruits. One of the session's greatest moments was when student Hemanth Suriya asked a question that everyone wanted to ponder: "As an HR professional, what are some of the skills you seek when hiring?" This was a great discussion of the importance of being flexible, fast learners, and keeping abreast of industry trends skills that are just as valuable as technical ones. Mrs. Meenakshi Devi took this opportunity to explain how a fresher is distinct. In addition to technical competence, she noted the importance of having a properly worded resume that summarizes a candidate's life history, interests, and aspirations. She noted that the comfort with which one can discuss one's aspirations indicates not just self-awareness but also a desire to improve oneself. She also asked students to have an active LinkedIn profile since it reflects curiosity, initiative, and willingness to find opportunities. Above all, she stressed the value of good communication skills not only during interviews, but also to excel in the team-based high-speed work environment. In her opinion, good communication is a reflection of good thinking, flexibility, and professionalism, which can take a candidate beyond the crowd.

Inside Askan Technologies: A Walk Through Innovation

Following the session, the students were taken on a guided tour of our office. The modern infrastructure at Askan Technologies left a lasting impression, with its collaborative spaces, live project areas, and an energizing work culture that fosters innovation at every turn. During the tour, Prem Kumar’s curiosity stood out. He asked insightful questions, such as: What skills should we focus on right now? Focus on understanding the current industry trends and direct your learning toward those areas. Stay updated and learn the relevant tools and technologies that are in demand. How do we direct our career in the proper manner? Begin with acquiring hands-on experience with internships, engage in challenging projects, and establish a professional network. Learn constantly and be willing to try new things. The right career path will unfold as you keep evolving. Prem's thirst for learning really connected with our team and was the kind of student we enjoy working with. His enthusiastic participation contributed even more to the experience and motivated his fellow students too. At Askan, we always appreciate curiosity and dedication to development and students like Prem really represent why we do what we do. It's our commitment to offer a platform where young minds can question, discover possibilities, and design their future confidently.
