Velammal’s 3rd-Year AI Students Explore IT Workflow at Askan Technologies

On August 29, 2025, we were thrilled to welcome a new group of bright minds to our office: 111 3rd-year students from the AI & Data Science department of Velammal Institute of Technology. Their visit was a fantastic opportunity for them to see how the complex theories they learn in the classroom are put into practice every day.

The day began with an immersive tour of the Askan Technologies office. For 3rd-year students who are beginning to think seriously about their careers, this was a valuable chance to observe a professional work environment up close. They saw how our teams collaborate, how projects are managed, and the focused energy that drives a successful tech company.

Essential Skills for a Strong Start

Following the tour, the students participated in a quick and valuable session with Ms. Fahmeeda M. from our HR team. The discussion was perfectly tailored for students on the cusp of their careers.

Ms. Fahmeeda provided a clear roadmap of what companies look for in freshers, highlighting the importance of a strong foundational knowledge, a proactive attitude, and excellent communication skills. The conversation naturally turned to gaining practical experience, and in response to several student questions, she also detailed the internship opportunities available at Askan Technologies. She emphasized that these programs are designed to be a crucial bridge between academic learning and professional work, allowing students to apply their skills on real projects.

From Developer's Desk: The Journey of a Project

The session then transitioned into a technical deep-dive that the students were clearly eager for. A continuous stream of technical questions was expertly handled by our developer, Sivapriyan N.

One of the most insightful questions of the day came from a student, UDAYA KUMAR N, who wanted to understand the bigger picture. He asked: "What is the typical workflow for a project in the IT industry, from start to finish?"

Sivapriyan broke down the entire project lifecycle in a way that was incredibly clear and helpful. He explained the journey:

1. Understanding the Vision: It all starts with understanding the client's idea. Teams work to grasp the core problem that needs to be solved.

2. Creating the Blueprint (Wireframing & Design): Before coding begins, a design team creates a visual guide for the project, like an app's wireframe or a detailed UI/UX mockup. This gives the development team a clear map of what to build.

3. The Building Phase (Development): This is the core coding stage. Developers write the frontend and backend code, build the databases, and integrate all the features to bring the design to life.

4. Quality Check (Testing & Debugging): The project goes through rigorous testing to find and fix any bugs or errors, ensuring the final product is stable and secure.

5. Deployment & Maintenance: Finally, the finished project is launched and delivered. The job doesn't end there, as teams often provide ongoing support and work on future updates.

This step-by-step explanation was clearly a highlight. It demystified the entire process and sparked a new wave of curiosity, with many students eagerly asking follow-up questions to clarify their doubts about the development cycle.
