Bridging Cyber Minds and Industry Realities: Sri Sairam Institute of Technology

On 22nd September 2025, Askan Technologies welcomed 114 enthusiastic students from the Department of Cyber Security at Sri Sairam Institute of Technology, Chennai.

Welcome and Orientation

The session began with a warm welcome by Dr. Meenakshi Ganesh, Head of Human Resources, Askan Technologies. Students were then taken on a guided tour across various blocks of the company to experience our workplace environment firsthand.

During the orientation, Ms. Fahmeeda (HR) introduced the students to the culture, values, and work dynamics at Askan Technologies, explaining how our teams collaborate to deliver solutions in diverse domains. This gave the students a real sense of how an IT company operates on a day-to-day basis. She highlighted how collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning form the foundation of the company’s success.

Learning Sessions: From Code to Career

The visit featured two engaging sessions that gave students a deep dive into both the technical and professional aspects of the IT world.

The first session, led by Mr. Shivapriyan, Software Developer, provided valuable insights into Cyber Security, Project Workflows, IT Work Culture, and how projects are approached and executed within an organization. His practical explanations helped students understand how theoretical concepts translate into real-world solutions.

This was followed by an interactive session by Ms. Fahmeeda, who discussed Recruitment Processes, Resume Building, LinkedIn Best Practices, and Skill Development. She also guided students on how to stand out as candidates and how certifications can strengthen employability in today’s competitive tech landscape.

Interactive Moments & Discussions

The students from Sri Sairam Institute of Technology actively participated throughout the sessions, asking thought-provoking questions such as:

• How does AI contribute to the company’s growth?

• What was the biggest success project at Askan?

• Have faced any cyber threats in the past years? And what steps were taken?

• What are the key steps to starting a tech-based startup?

Their enthusiasm reflected a genuine interest in bridging academics with industry knowledge, and their questions sparked engaging discussions among the mentors and participants alike.

The importance of internships and live projects was also emphasized — helping students recognize how early exposure to real-world challenges can shape their confidence and career direction.

The visit by Sri Sairam Institute of Technology was more than an academic excursion — it was a meaningful exchange of ideas and aspirations.
