On 27th September 2024,
Askan Technologies Pvt Ltd, was excited to welcome 40 students from the Department of Computer Science at Indo-American College, Kanchipuram. This industrial visit offered the students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of IT, gaining invaluable exposure to the latest industry trends, innovative technologies, and real-world applications. The experience not only expanded their understanding of the IT sector but also helped bridge the gap between their academic knowledge and the practical skills needed for their future careers.

Empowering Minds – Faculty Members Shaping the Students’ Industrial Visit Experience
The students were accompanied by two esteemed faculty members, Mr. M. Swaminathan, Assistant Professor, and Mrs. K. Shiny, Assistant Professor, who played an integral role in organizing and guiding the visit. Their expertise and enthusiasm ensured the students made the most of this enriching experience, providing them with the support needed to understand the industry’s practices and innovations.
In fact, the professors shared their feedback with us, stating that while their students had participated in several industrial visits in the past, none of them had offered the level of practical exposure and valuable insights that Askan Technologies provided. This encouraging feedback highlighted the positive impact the visit had on the students’ learning journey.
An Insightful Session on IT Careers and Essential Skills

The highlight of the visit was the insightful session titled “Securing Opportunities in IT”, delivered by Mrs. G. Meenakshi Devi, Head of Human Resources at Askan Technologies. The session focused on the essential skills and strategies required to succeed in the IT sector, preparing students for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. It was an interactive session where students engaged actively, asking thought-provoking questions and responding to the queries raised by the expert. Their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn demonstrated their commitment to building successful careers in the IT industry.
Exploring Askan Technologies: A Tour of Innovation
Following the session, the students were given a comprehensive tour of Askan Technologies, where they explored the company’s state-of-the-art facilities. The industrial tour provided students with a deeper understanding of the company’s operations, technologies in use, and the work culture that drives innovation. It was an eye-opening experience for the students, allowing them to connect their academic learning with practical, real-world applications.
Acknowledging the Support of Indo-American College
The success of this visit would not have been possible without the dedication and support of Mr. M. Swaminathan and Mrs. K. Shiny, who ensured that the students received the maximum benefit from the visit. Their continued guidance and enthusiasm contributed greatly to making the industrial visit an invaluable experience.
A Step Toward a Bright Future

As the day concluded, the students left with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration, equipped with the insights needed to pursue careers in the IT industry. The industrial visit not only provided them with exposure to cutting-edge industry practices but also motivated them to work toward securing opportunities in the ever-growing field of technology.
We look forward to continuing to engage with Indo-American College and other institutions, providing students with the opportunity to explore and embrace the dynamic world of IT.
