    Reboot and Recharge: Yoga for Mind & Body at Askan Technologies

    At Askan Technologies, wellness found its space amid our busy schedules when we had the privilege of joining a rejuvenating yoga session led by the inspiring Mrs. Vidhyasri. On Saturday, 9th August 2025, the atmosphere in the office was filled with a calm, energizing energy as our team embraced the opportunity to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves. This session was more than just a series of yoga poses, it was a holistic experience that recharged the body, focused the mind, and refreshed the spirit.

    About Vidhyasri Mam

    Mrs. Vidhyasri S is a highly accomplished yoga therapist and practitioner, with a PG Diploma in Yoga Therapy and an MSc in Yoga. She has participated in numerous international yoga competitions, received multiple awards, and holds a Guinness World Record for Yoga Demonstration. Known for her approachable and motivational teaching style, she makes yoga accessible to everyone, emphasizing that wellness is a lifestyle, not just an occasional activity. Through her guidance, participants learn to harmonize mind, body, and breath, making yoga a practical tool for daily life.

    Butterfly Pose - Gentle Opening

    The session began with the Butterfly Pose, a simple yet powerful stretch that opens the hips and eases tension accumulated from prolonged sitting. This pose helped the team connect with their bodies, release stiffness, and feel grounded. By focusing on gentle movements and mindful breathing, participants experienced a sense of calm and readiness for the rest of the session.

    Warrior Pose - Strength and Stability 

    We then moved into the Warrior Pose, which focuses on building strength in the legs and enhancing balance. This pose not only improves posture but also fosters mental focus and determination. As staff engaged in Warrior Pose, they felt their energy rise, while their awareness of body alignment and core stability increased, highlighting the deeper connection between physical strength and mental clarity.

    Cow-Cat Pose - Mobilizing the Spine

    The Cow-Cat Pose followed, creating a smooth, flowing movement that mobilized the spine, eased stiffness, and promoted flexibility. The synchronized breathing encouraged mindfulness and helped participants release accumulated tension from long hours at desks. This dynamic stretch is particularly beneficial for office workers, as it encourages spinal health and prevents discomfort caused by prolonged sitting.

    Pranava Pranayama and Meditation - Calm and Mental Clarity

    To conclude the session, Mrs. Vidhyasri guided the team through Pranava Pranayama and a short meditation, a combination designed to bring calm and clarity. By focusing on controlled, rhythmic breathing and meditation, participants experienced a profound sense of mental clarity, relaxation, and stress relief. This practice nurtures not only relaxation but also enhances concentration, energy levels, and overall mental well-being, making it a practical tool that can be used anytime during a busy workday.

    Integrating Yoga into Daily Work Life 

    Understanding the constraints of modern office life, Vidhyasri Ma’am also shared practical yoga techniques for desk-bound professionals. These simple exercises can be seamlessly incorporated into the workday without taking extra time:

    • Blink and Relax Eyes: Reduce eye strain with conscious blinking or short eye closures

    • Neck and Shoulder Movements: Gentle rolls, shrugs, or lifts release tension from typing or long hours of sitting

    • Seated Spinal Stretch: Sitting upright and elongating the spine improves posture and boosts energy

    • Wrist and Hand Movements: Stretching fingers and rotating wrists helps prevent stiffness and fatigue

    By integrating these small, mindful exercises into everyday routines, employees can maintain alertness, reduce tension, and enhance overall wellness even during busy work schedules.

    Embracing Mindfulness: The Impact of Yoga and Meditation

    The yoga and meditation session at Askan Technologies was a beautiful reminder that wellness is not just an activity, it is a continuous journey of caring for our mind, body, and spirit. With simple yet powerful techniques and guided expertise from Mrs. Vidhyasri, participants left the session feeling more grounded, mentally relaxed, energized, and ready to embrace their day with clarity and calm.
