On the refreshing morning of August 7th, 2025, Askan Technologies had the privilege of hosting 68 energetic and enthusiastic students from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the prestigious College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Anna University. Guiding this talented group were two respected faculty members, Dr. C. Balaji and Dr. P. Shanthi, both Assistant Professors in the CSE Department. Their presence throughout the visit helped students connect the concepts they learn in class with the practical realities of the tech industry. The day was designed to give students an immersive experience by combining a tour of the workplace, live interactions with industry professionals, and practical insights into how careers in technology are built.

About the College of Engineering, Guindy

Founded in 1794, the College of Engineering, Guindy is one of the oldest and most respected technical institutions in India. As a constituent college of Anna University, CEG has a long history of producing industry leaders, innovators, and changemakers. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CEG is known for its strong academic curriculum, cutting-edge research activities, and vibrant student community. Students are encouraged to explore core technical domains such as algorithms, artificial intelligence, and data science, as well as soft skills and leadership qualities that prepare them for a competitive global workforce. The visit to Askan Technologies perfectly aligned with CEG’s vision, allowing students to experience firsthand how classroom learning translates into professional success.

Exploring the Workplace - The Office Tour

The visit began with a guided tour of Askan Technologies’ office. The students explored different sections, from the development hubs buzzing with innovation to meeting rooms where ideas are transformed into concrete strategies. They observed the open and collaborative environment where designers, developers, and project managers work together to deliver impactful solutions. Many students were especially fascinated by how teams with different specializations collaborate seamlessly to meet client needs. For some, this was their first glimpse into the daily workings of a tech company, sparking curiosity about roles, workflows, and project lifecycles.

The Heart of the Day - Interactive Session with HR

After the tour, the students gathered for an engaging interactive session led by Ms. Fahmeeda M from the HR department. Her approachable demeanor made everyone feel comfortable, creating an open space for discussion. She explained how HR professionals evaluate candidates, emphasizing the importance of maintaining an active LinkedIn profile, crafting a clear and concise resume, and developing good communication skills for interviews and teamwork. Her message was clear: technical knowledge gets you noticed, but attitude, adaptability, and communication set you apart.

Curiosity in Action - Questions from the Students

The highlight of the session was the high level of student interaction. They asked thoughtful, career-focused questions that reflected both curiosity and ambition. Some notable questions included: Arun Prakash S asked, "If we have a startup, how do we pitch to investors and get clients?" Ms. Fahmeeda M explained the basics of crafting a compelling pitch, understanding the audience, presenting a strong value proposition, and building trust and credibility. Sangam Bashyal asked, "What AI-powered projects has your company done?" She shared that Askan is actively working on multiple AI-driven solutions, from intelligent automation tools to data analysis systems. Jeevananthan asked, "What types of services do you provide?" The answer included mobile app development, website creation, and e-commerce platforms tailored to client-specific needs. This lively exchange made the session both informative and engaging for everyone.

A Special Recognition - Gifts for Curious Minds

To make the visit even more memorable, students who actively participated and asked questions were given a Ulamart miniature house as a token of appreciation. Ulamart, one of Askan Technologies’ standout ventures, is more than just an e-commerce brand. It celebrates tradition by offering a beautiful range of ethnic and natural products, including heritage rice varieties, cold-pressed oils, and other organic essentials. These gifts were received with great excitement and served as a meaningful memento of their engaging and inquisitive participation during the visit.

More Than Just a Visit - A Learning Experience

The visit was not only about answers and information but also about the exchange of energy. Students came with open minds, and the Askan team responded with equal enthusiasm. For the students, it was an opportunity to see how their technical skills could be applied in a professional setting. For Askan, it was a reminder of the importance of engaging with young talent, because the future of technology depends on their curiosity, creativity, and determination.

    Heartfelt Thanks

We sincerely thank Dr. C. Balaji and Dr. P. Shanthi for their tireless efforts in organizing and accompanying this visit. Their guidance ensured smooth coordination and greatly enhanced the learning experience for the students. At Askan Technologies, we look forward to more interactions where academic excellence meets industry expertise, and young minds are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and shape the future of technology.
